Volunteer at CODA
CODA has wonderful volunteers whose unique talents are tailored to meaningful service. Volunteer opportunities fall into three areas:
Day-to-Day Shelter Operations and Client Services:
- Answer the Crisis Call Line
- Interpret for Clients in Court, the Shelter or on the Phone
- Help with Client Transportation (to medical appointments, etc.)
- Assist with Case Management (locating housing and other resources for departing clients)
- Grocery Shop for the Shelter
- Assist with Children’s Activities (special events or afternoons when moms attend group counseling)
- Develop Children’s Activities or Programs (one-time or on-going)
- Assist with Front Door, Phones, Mailings and/or Office Work
- Help with Shelter/Grounds Maintenance
Fundraising
Help develop fundraising ideas or contribute to the success of fundraising events
Community Education and Awareness
- Speak to civic, business, school, church and social groups to raise awareness of domestic violence and CODA services
- Participate in health fairs, community events and other venues - distribute CODA literature/ answer questions
- Participate in Domestic Violence Awareness Month Commemorations - October
