CODA Survivors Speak...
I was a broken person when I came here. Now I’m leaving a strong woman.
I have learned how to love me again and take care of me and realize that no one should stay in an abusive relationship. I feel completely safe here.
You have helped me realize that I have been just struggling to survive for so long that I had almost forgotten about me.
CODA exceeded every expectation and helped more than anyone could imagine. Thank you so much for changing my life.
So if any of my “angels” are having a bad day, or questioning if all the work you do is worth it, please look at my daughter’s picture, because I truly believe there is a life of smiles and hope there that was not there this time last year. Thank you for saving my life.
Going to group has helped me to know I’m not alone.
They listen when I need to talk. I am very thankful.
You (staff) have learned the gift of caring and giving and I am grateful to have been on the receiving end. With the support of family and friends, both old and new, I’ve been able to deal with all that has been thrown my way. I’m becoming me again—whole—intact—able to speak and do things freely—make friends—be patted on the back for a job well done—be appreciated.
It's not possible to delete all history of your on-line activity. An abuser can easily monitor your computer whether he has physical access to it or not. To be safe, get a new email address, which does not identity you by name, and access the internet and your email only via public computers such as those at libraries or a friend's computer.
If you think your activities are being monitored, they probably are!
