Adult Counseling CODA's adult counselor can help you explore how domestic abuse has affected your life and reinforce the fact that you are not to blame for the treatment you have experienced. Years of emotional abuse often leave a victim unable to make decisions and insecure about your own strengths and abilities. Supportive counseling can help you rediscover your worth and capabilities. In group counseling, you will meet other women whose experiences can validate your own as you evolve from being a "victim" to becoming a "survivor" of domestic violence. |

Children's Counseling Tragically, children are often witnesses to domestic violence. (How DV Affects Children). CODA's children's counselor and children's activities coordinaor sensitively work with children in an age-appropriate manner to help them cope with the traumas they have experienced and encourages them to use non-vlolent methods to resove conflict. The children's counselor also sees parents to support them in working toward their children's healing and growth. |

Childrens Activities The children's activities coordinator furthers the goals of the parents and children's counselor, helping to make the child feel safe, encouraging non-violent play, assisting with homework, designing activities and being an overall resource for the children. |

Who Can Access CODA's Counseling? If you believe you may be a victim of domestic violence, you or your children can access both individual and group counseling services. You do not have to be living in the CODA shelter. Just call CODA to become a client and all CODA services will be available to you.
What is the Cost of CODA's Counseling? Because of community donations and grants, CODA services are free to all victims of domestic violence. |
