A core tenet of CODA's mission is that domestic violence can be reduced in our community through education and communication. To that end, CODA's community educator addresses church, civic, educational and business groups on all aspects of domestic violence - its origins, dynamics and ramifications on multiple aspects of our community. The Megan Project, an interactive program to alert young people to the dangers of teen dating violence, is available to area junior and senior high schools as well as colleges. The presentation focuses on what comprises a healthy relationship as opposed to toxic behaviors such as extreme jealousy and control. Workplace violence is often the result of a domestic violence situation taken out of the home and into a business setting. CODA, in concert with board member Eugene Rugala, has developed a presentation to enable businesses to be proactive toward this possibility. To have a presentation tailored specfically for your group, please call CODA's community educator at 770-1074 x224.
